Like in Germany, the Kremer K3 Porsche seemed unbeatable. The race was won by the Joest-Porsche 908, but the WC Group 5 class was won by Ludwig and Plankenhorn. Loos had entered his cars but stayed away, so the competition for Kremer was meagre; the BMW M1, classified as sportscar since it was not homologated, but it crashed when in a corner the power had cut out suddenly. Lancia finished fifth despite a damaged radiator.
