Next on the agenda was Zandvoort, and for a while there was a nice fight between the yellow Luigi BMW and one Zakspeed Escort, behind the back of the leading BMW of Facetti/Finotto and Grano/Joosen - the last two cars would finish 1-2 in that order, the Luigi BMW retired and the Zakspeed Escort, which Heyer had driven to an extensive class lead, ran into troubles too. When Nussbaumer had taken over he left the road within 5 laps, damaging the front suspension. It was repaired but after a drive to eight overall but was disqualified after all for outside assistance. The other Zakspeed car fared no better - the crankshaft gave up. Now the Eggenberger BMW won the class with a fine third overall as a bonus.
