Grano knew after five laps that it was over: a blown head gasket ended the race of his BMW. His Italian compatriots had the same trouble, but could salvage the car to the end of the race, albeit in second position behind the Luigi BMW of the Belgian trio Xhenceval/Dieudonné/van Hove. Niedzwiedz/Müller Jr finished fourth and won the 2-liter class.
