The 13 classes of the Rundstrecken championship had an entertaining season once again; no real future stars to discover this year, but a fine championship for Datsun driver Behrens - the laughter in Gernany about Datsun stopped, like it had years earlier in the Netherlands. The championship had been open right through the end, with Köster (Autobianchi), Hohenester (Audi 80) and Cherry-driver Behrens. There were protests, as usual, like that of Kästner in race one against his three opponents who had finished ahead of him; all three were thrown out! Impressive was Helmut Döring: in the tough group 1B class under 2000 cc, he won six races.
