Group 2/5
On Saturday, another swan song race for the Group 2-5 cars. At least there was some excitement this time, when on the first lap “Davit” spun his De Tomaso and a few innocent cars crashed into the big GT. When the bits and pieces were removed, there was time for a shortened 8-lap race; the absent Bourgoignie was sorely missed, now a British Group 5 Lotus Elan won the race; the big guns definitely had seen better days at Zandvoort.

Production over 1600 cc
The Sunday started fine with a 4-way battle for the lead; Slotemaker, Moritz, Houthuyzen and Hutzezon. Finally, Slotemaker, visibly enjoying himself in sideways style, helped his employee Houthuyzen with a fine 1-2, with Slotemaker only inches in front. Hutzezon finished third ahead of Moritz.

Camaro Superstar Race
Another race for Slotemaker to enjoy himself it seemed; the Swedes had better cars, though no-one cared since there were no championships at stake. But the race turned into a mess, cars stranded everywhere, a beginning of fire - and than Strauch blew his engine in a big way right after the Hunzerug. Soon, the doctor’s BMW stopped behind the stranded Camaro.
There was an oil trail right on the racing line, yellow flags were waved but then tragedy struck: Slotemaker lost control and smashed into the doctor’s car, breaking his neck; the anti-skid export ironically lost his life due to a slippery surface. There were injuries in the doctor’s car, and the race - and in fact the other races as well - were cancelled.
